Are you interested in becoming a beekeeper and don't know where to start or overwhelmed at the amount of information on beekeeping?
This class is a beginner's look into keeping bees as a way to develop your own style of working with the bees.
Some topics that will be discussed are:
-How to set up a hive. Where to set up a hive. Flora and water source importance
-when to add equipment and the importance of adding equipment
-general hive layout and processes
-when to feed your bees, general maintenance, overall hive health
-hive splitting and swarm prevention
-honey gathering and winter prep
The first class will be Sunday April 24th from 2-3:30 with food and drink served at the Honey House in Gallatin. Spots are limited! If there is demand, I'll offer another class come first week of May.
